Our Mission
Our mission is to conserve the Western Hoolock Gibbon and its natural habitat through a holistic approach that integrates:

-
Wildlife rescue and rehabilitation

-
Habitat protection and research

-
Community engagement and awareness

-
Education and social development

What We Do
1. Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation

We operate the Sonja Wildlife Rescue Centre in Meghalaya, where endangered gibbons rescued from poaching, captivity, or injury receive immediate medical care, rehabilitation, and, when possible, reintroduction into the wild.

2. Habitat Protection & Research

Our team actively works on protecting forest ecosystems, implementing wildlife laws, and conducting research projects to support conservation strategies and policy development.

3. Conservation Education & Awareness

We create awareness about biodiversity conservation through schools, community outreach programs, and youth engagement initiatives, helping build a culture of environmental responsibility.

4. Community Development & Education

We also run a free rural school, providing quality education to children from underserved communities. By linking education with conservation, we inspire the next generation to protect their natural heritage.
Our Impact
-
Rescue and rehabilitation of endangered gibbons through a specialized rescue centre.

-
Release of rehabilitated animals back into natural habitats when possible.

-
Education support for rural children through free schooling initiatives.

-
Increased awareness and participation of local communities in conservation efforts.
Our Vision
We envision a future where wildlife and human communities coexist in balance, forests are protected, and endangered species like the Western Hoolock Gibbon thrive in their natural habitats.
